The Duke of Sussex is suing the Mail on Sunday’s writer over a narrative on a separate Excessive Courtroom case on his safety preparations within the UK.
The February article carried the headline: “Unique: How Prince Harry tried to maintain his authorized struggle with the federal government over police bodyguards a secret… then – simply minutes after the story broke – his PR machine tried to place a constructive spin on the dispute.”
Legal professionals for Harry had argued the article was defamatory and urged the duke had “improperly and cynically” tried to govern public opinion.
A choose dominated components of the article had been defamatory on Friday.
This judgment solely pertains to the “goal which means” of the article and is the primary stage within the libel declare, Mr Justice Nicklin mentioned.
