Virginia Giuffre says that the Prince Andrew intercourse assault trial might be “an opportunity to reveal the reality” after a US decide allowed her case towards the Queen’s son to proceed.
Her first feedback on a federal decide’s resolution to disclaim Andrews movement to dismiss her lawsuit comes after he was stripped of of his army titles and royal patronages by the Queen.
Ms Giuffre addressed the matter in a string of tweets on Thursday evening, saying she was “happy” that the case would transfer to trial.
“I’m happy with Choose Kaplan’s ruling yesterday that enables my case towards Prince Andrew to go ahead. I’m glad I’ll have the possibility to proceed to reveal the reality & I’m deeply grateful to my extraordinary authorized group,” she wrote on Twitter.
“Their willpower helps me search justice from those that damage me and so many others. My purpose has at all times been to point out that the wealthy and highly effective usually are not above the regulation & have to be held accountable.”
And he or she added: “I don’t stroll this path alone, however alongside numerous different survivors of sexual abuse & trafficking.”
Earlier within the day, Buckingham Palace palace introduced that the Duke of York will now defend the case as a “personal citizen”, whereas it’s believed he’ll stop to be known as His Royal Highness (HRH) in any official capability.
In an announcement, the palace mentioned: “With the Queen’s approval and settlement, the Duke of York’s army affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to the Queen.
“The Duke of York will proceed to not undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a personal citizen.”
Ms Giuffre is suing Andrew, 61, in New York for allegedly sexually assaulting her when she was a teen.
She claims she was trafficked by convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein to have intercourse with Andrew when she was aged 17 and a minor beneath US regulation.
Andrew has strongly denied the entire allegations.
Earlier this week Choose Lewis Kaplan wrote in his resolution that, “Ms Giuffre’s grievance is neither ‘unintelligible’ nor ‘obscure’ nor ‘ambiguous.’”
“It alleges discrete incidents of sexual abuse particularly circumstances at three identifiable places. It identifies to whom it attributes that sexual abuse.”
